Orioles Win: 9 - 1
Quincy Junior Varsity Orioles won a pair of Big 8 Conference games Monday night defeating visiting Union City. The wins end the 2023 season with an overall 14-11 record and player improvement and promise for the Quincy base ballers
In game 1 a 9-1 win saw the Orioles pull away for good with three runs in the second inning. Quincy added 4 runs in the 4th inning.The rally was led by a groundout by Elijah Case and a double by Mason Graves.
Brandon Leavitt went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Quincy on offense in game 1
Jimmy Maynard was sharp from the pitchers mound firing a impressive 1 hitter while striking out 13 Charger hitters.
In Game two the Orioles scored 10 runs in the 4th inning and cruised past to a 15-1 win. The Orioles offense in the inning was led by Zach Hollingsworth, Skyler Foley, Kayne Locke, Caleb Rose, who all drove in runs. Quincy scattered seven hits in the game. Elijah Case and Rose each racked up multiple hits for the O’s. Case went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Quincy and Alex Daniels added an extra base hit with a double.
Luke Pearson was the winning pitcher for Quincy. The righty lasted four innings, allowing three hits and one run while striking out eight.
With the14-11 record the Orioles close the book on the 2023 season and look forward to a bright baseball future ahead. The coaches commented that all players contributed and improved and it was a good and fun season. Coach Dirschell and Coach Woodard thank all those people who supported the young Orioles this season with added thanks to the baseball parents who stayed with us in good and bad weather and everything else that comes with spring sports.

Orioles Win: 4 - 2
The Quincy JV Orioles defeated Hudson 4-2 on Friday in game one of the double header. The Tigers won the nightcap 12-11 as the Orioles could not get the tying and go ahead run in their last at bat
Parker Fraley earned the win for Quincy. The righthander went five innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out five in a quality start
Caleb Rose, Alex Barry, Mason Graves, and Maynard each collected one hit to lead The Orioles game 1 cause
In game two, despite a 4-run deficit in the first inning, the Orioles almost came all the way back. Alex Barry, Zach Hollingsworth, Mason Graves, Jimmy Maynard, Barry, and Elijah Case powered the rally with RBIs. The Tigers who trailed 9-6 going in the last inning scored 6 unearned runs to take a 3 run lead
Caleb Rose started the game on the mound for Quincy. The lefty battled through 3 innings Rose surrendered four runs on two hits striking out five and walking one. Draven Baker pitched two innings out of the bullpen for The Orioles.
Quincy Junior Varsity Orioles tallied six hits. Barry and Maynard each collected two hits and Elijah Case added a two run single to lead Quincy. Maynard led with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with ten stolen bases.
After playing back to back double headers the Orioles will rest over the weekend before returning on Monday to face Bronson

Orioles Lose: 6 - 16
The Junior Varsity Orioles dropped a pair of games at Lumen Christi on Thursday. In game 1 The Orioles fell behind early but rallied with 6 runs in the 3rd inning to close the gap. The Titans came back with a big inning of their own leading to 16-6 loss. In game 2 the Titans emerged with 7-3 win
Draven Baker, Alex Daniels, Brandon Leavitt, and Parker Fraley all had one hit to lead Quincy. The big 3rd inning was aided with RBIs by Alex Barry, Mason Graves , Elijah Case, Fraley, Baker, and Daniels.
In game 2 Jimmy Maynard pitched effectively but the Orioles committed 8 fielding errors not helping their cause. Maynard allowed just 4 hits and struck out 5
Graves led Quincy with two hits in three at bats. Maynard added a single and 2 stolen bases and Caleb Rose singled for the Orioles.
The young Orioles return to the diamond tomorrow in a non league contest vs Hudson.

Orioles Win: 3 - 0
Quincy JV beats Camden JV both games of a double header on a pitching gem in game one and a walk off in game two.
In game 1 Mason Graves threw a gem allowing zero runs and besting Camden JV by a score of 3-0 in game one. The righty surrendered zero runs on two hits over five innings, striking out seven and walking one.
The Orioles scattered five hits in the game. Jimmy Maynard and Wyatt Reinkes each had multiple hits for Quincy.
In game two the scorekeepers were kept busy during a high-scoring contest where the O’s prevailed in walk off style with a 10-9 win to complete the sweep. Caleb Rose scored the winning run after leading off the last inning with a walk.
The Orioles fell behind 7-1 but scored five runs in the second inning to close the gap. The Orioles's big inning was driven by a single by Graves, a fielder's choice by Alex Barry, and an error on a ball put in play by Kayne Locke.
Barry earned the win for Quincy. The righty went four innings, allowing two runs on four hits, striking out six and walking zero.
The Orioles collected six hits in game 2 Maynard and Zach Hollingsworth both managed multiple hits for Quincy.
With the wins the young Orioles move to 7-5 on the season

Orioles Lose: 5 - 6
Quincy Junior Varsity Orioles drop a pair to Constantine Thursday night.
In game one Quincy watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 12-0 loss to Constantine Junior Varsity Falcons.
Jimmy Maynard took the loss for the Orioles. The righthander lasted three innings, allowing two hits and six runs while striking out four and walking one.
Alex Barry and Skyler Foley each managed one hit to lead Quincy’s efforts at the plate.
In game two Quincy fell behind early and couldn't come back in a tough 6-5 loss to Constantine.
Barry was on the pitcher's mound for Quincy. The righthander went three innings, allowing six runs on two hits, striking out two and walking one. Luke Pearson threw one inning in relief.
Barry and Maynard both had one hit to lead the Orioles.

Orioles Win: 5 - 1
Quincy Junior Varsity Orioles were sharp Monday night as they swept a double header from Concord.
Game one saw Mason Graves lead Quincy to a victory on the mound beating the YellowJackets 5 to 1. The right hander was sharp going all five innings, allowing one run on two hits, striking out four and walking one on just 50 pitches.
Offensively the Orioles were led by Alex Barry who went 2-for-3 at the plate. Also, collecting hits were Jimmy Maynard, Elijah Case, Alex Daniels and Caleb Rose.
The Orioles won game two 15-0 as three pitchers combined to throw a shutout.
Maynard took the win for the Orioles throwing two innings, allowing zero runs on zero hits, striking out three and walking zero. Barry and Rose entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Quincy totaled 12 hits. Graves, Maynard, and Wyatt Reinkes all collected three hits to lead Quincy. Maynard led Quincy with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with 12 stolen bases.
The wins improve Quincy’s overall record to 5 and 3. In conference they are 3 and 1.

Quincy Orioles JV splits a pair Friday night under the lights at Homer. The Orioles were victorious over Homer JV Trojans, 5-3 in game one. Mason Graves led Quincy to victory on the pitcher's mound. The righthander allowed three hits and three runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out five. Jimmy Maynard threw one and one-third innings in relief out of the bullpen. Alex Barry and Maynard each managed one hit to lead Orioles. Game two was slated to go seven innings but with things tied up after the seventh inning it took an eighth inning to decide the game. Quincy stayed in it until the end, but Homer pulled away late in a 12-9 victory. Maynard started the game for Quincy. The pitcher surrendered two runs on two hits over three innings, striking out four and walking one. Barry, Caleb Rose, and Luke Pearson each contributed in relief for Quincy. Orioles Win: 12 - 0
Quincy JV scores a pair of victories Monday Night against East Jackson.
In game one Mason Graves didn't allow a single run, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Quincy to a 12-0 victory.
The Orioles put up five runs in the fourth inning. The offensive onslaught by Quincy was led by Elijah Case, Wyatt Reinkes, Zach Hollingsworth, and Caleb Rose, all driving in runs in the frame.
Graves earned the victory on the mound. The righty allowed two hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out 12 and walking zero.
Quincy collected nine hits on the day. Alex Barry, Skyler Foley, and Reinkes all managed multiple hits. Quincy didn't commit a single error in the field. Jimmy Maynard had the most chances in the field with 12.
In game two Despite allowing four runs in the third inning, Quincy Orioles defeated East Jackson 16-5.
Quincy got on the board in the first inning when Graves's sac fly scored two runs for Orioles.
Quincy notched eight runs in the second inning. The rally was led by a triple by Reinkes, a single by Graves, an error on a ball put in play by Case, and a double by Kane Locke.

Orioles Lose: 3 - 9
Nothing came easy for Quincy Junior Varsity Orioles on Thursday, as they dropped both games of a double header to Grass Lake Junior Varsity Warriors.
In game one Quincy lost the lead late in a 10-3 defeat to Grass Lake.
Jimmy Maynard was on the mound for Quincy. The righty surrendered three runs on two hits over three innings, striking out one. Alex Barry threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
