Quincy Baseball Completes Busy Week with Another Spilt.

The Oriole Varsity Baseball team completed a busy week with a 1-1 record at Jackson Lumen Christi on Saturday. The split was the 3rd of the week as the Orioles played a demanding 6 games overall against 4 different opponents. In the end the Orioles went 3-3 and stand 14-13 heading into the final week of regular season action

On Saturday the Orioles started slow against Brooklyn Columbia Central falling behind 3-0. Pitcher Brady Mescher settled in and did not allow another run through 5 innings. Mason Snyder relieved Mescher and recorded a 6 out save. The Catcher play of Grant Holroyd was a key factor in holding down the Eagles who had lots of traffic on the bases. The Orioles won 5-3. At the plate the Orioles recorded 9 hits. Two each from Riley Miner, Davin George, and Ryder Schmactenberger. Mescher added a double off the fence while, Hunter Tinervia and Holroyd added big hits and Holroyd had 3 Rbi.

In the 2nd game of the day the Orioles watched as Lumen Christi raced out the a 4-0 lead after 1 inning. That scored held and the Orioles looking to get back in the game loaded the bases with nobody out in the 3rd inning but failed the score. The Titans would get 8 runs in the bottom of the 4 inning and cruise to a 12-0 win over the Orioles. 
Snyder returned to the mound to start against the Titans. Dreden Feltner and Schmactenberger also pitched in the loss. Davin George continued his strong day at the plate with another 2 hit game. Mescher and Miner also had hits.

The Orioles will take a couple days off and then are back at it with a game against Mendon at Quincy on Tuesday.
