Quincy bowling traveled to Jax 60 lanes in Jackson on Saturday to take on Jackson NW in their first contest of the year.

 

The boys team kept it close in the 1st baker but dropped game 1. Baker 2 belong to North West as they struck the front 6 taking the game in easy fashion and capturing all of the baker points. Game one of singles action also belonged to Jackson NW as they took all 5 points and the overall. Leading the way for the Orioles was Brand Neely who would shoot a 178 in game one. Senior Brody Glei struggled but found composure in the 2nd half of game one scoring a 173. Caden Moore also had a strong first game shooting a 169.

 

Game Two found Quincy taking the overall total and scoring two points from some young Oriole bowlers. Cody Neusbaum struck the front 5 and went on to throw a career high 214. Gavin Wood also scored for the Orioles striking a 189. Brandt Neely went on to throw a 211 capping off his 389 series. Brody Glei remained strong throwing a 193 to finish off the night. Jackson NW would go on to win 24-6.

 

The Varsity Girls kept it close and battled all day in what came down to a 1 point difference in overall pin count. The Lady O's started out strong in baker 1 taking the win. Jackson NW girls responded taking baker 2 and powering through game one of singles. Scoring for Quincy in game one of singles were Carlie McKinley with a 159 and Daylin Fuller with a 180.

 

Game two the Orioles faced an uphill battle starting down 13-6 with only game two remaining. Oriole substitutions founds Madison Wineland marking in 3 of 5 frames to start the contest. Torrance Swift came off the bench in game two and would go on to shoot a team best 210. Three Orioles would score in the contest and capture th overall pin count for game 2. Allison Short rebounded from a rough start in game 1 and shot a 172 to capture a Quincy point. Daylin Fuller would hit a 182 in game 2 for a score as well. Overall points came down to just 1 pin as Jackson NW took the contest 1619-1618.

 

The Orioles will compete on Wednesday next week against a tough Michigan Center team at Maplewood Lanes in Jackson.
