Quincy hosted Jackson Christian to open up the season and played to a 3-3 draw. Quincy struck first with a breakaway goal from Sammi Hollenbaugh. Jackson went on tie the game 3 min later and would take the lead with less than a minute to go in the first half on a break away and a one on one with the Quincy keeper In the second half Quincy came out much more orgininized and was able to control the game and Kalie Glei would score 2 goals in 2 minute span to put Quincy up 3-2. Jackson was given their opportunity to tie the game with a penalty shot with 16 minutes left and they would capitalize sending in a shot just out of the reach of of the goalies hands. Quincy fought hard and had some opportunities to score late but just couldn't find away to put it in the back of the net. Playing short handed all night. This young team really came together as the game went on. The defense lead by Mariah Wiley, Raigen Horsfall and Madison Hagaman really shined as the game went on and shut down Jackson in the second half. Ellie Talbot made her first carrier start in goal and made 7 saves. Quincy outshot Jackson 13-10.
