Quincy, MI — The middle school track meet hosted by Quincy Community Schools on Tuesday, May 6 showed the fierce competition and determination by our young Orioles.  Despite a rainy start that soaked the track, the Quincy Orioles rose to the occasion and delivered a commanding performance against visiting teams, the Stockbridge Panthers and the Maple Valley Lions.

As the meet progressed, so did the weather. By the time the final relay races were run, the sun had broken through and we ended our night under pleasant skies. The Quincy Orioles not only won the meet—they dominated it, setting several personal bests and bringing home top finishes across the board.

The boys team ended the night with 26 new PRs and the girls with 16.  A couple highlights for the night include the girls 4X400 (B. Porter, L. Tappenden, G. Hemker, and M. Sattison) taking almost eight seconds off their best time, Nathan Dunn trimming almost 13 seconds from his mile, Gibson James throwing over a foot further than his last PR, and Dylan Musser taking almost half-a-second from his 55 hurdles.
