On April 29, the girls and boys MS Track teams traveled to Union City for the Union City Invitational. There were seven schools in total at the meet. We had several athletes bring home medals from the invitational, with medals being awarded for 1st - 5th places. Both boys and girls teams placed third overall. Some of the meet highlights were:
Wes Wasikowski and Elizabeth Craig placed in the 70 meter dash with times of 9.0 and 10.45, respectively.
Elizabeth Craig placed in the 100 meter run with a time of 14.79.
Conner Guthrie placed 4th and Celie Smullen placed 5th in the 400 meter run.
Charlotte Crabbs and Brooklyn Parker took first and second in the mile - both setting new PRs.
Kaylyn Brenner took third in the two mile.
Corey Turner took first and Lorelai Kugler took third in the 55 meter hurdles.
Kaleb Handy took first and Corey Turner took third in the 200 meter hurdles.
Brooklyn Parker took second and Elizabeth Craig took fourth in the 200 meter hurdles - both setting new PRs.
The 4x100 boys relay set their season record, and placed first, with a time of 55.07. The team consisted of Caleb Bostic, Kaleb Handy, Kayne Locke, and Wes Wasikowski.
The girls 4x100 relay team of Lily Sawyer, Abby Tinervia, Olivia Davenport, and Piper Craig took fourth.
The boys 4x200 relay team of Husdon Gray, Micah Groves, Kayne Locke, and Wes Wasikowski took fourth.
The 2x200 girls relay set their season record, and placed second, with a time of 2:25.07. The team consisted of Lillian Gould-Zimmer, Izabella Ewers, McKenna Bowerman, and Coelie Smullen.
The boys 4x400 team of Micah Groves, Skyler Foley, Airion Rena, Conner Guthrie took third with a time of 4:53.94.
The girls 4x400 team of Maleyna Rhines, Izabella Ewers, Faith Rodesiler, and Brooklyn Parker took third with a time of 5:35.58.
Caleb Bostic took fourth in the shot put with a throw of 26'08.50".
Kaleb Handy and Corey Turner took first and second, respectively, in the pole vault.
Coelie Smullen took first in the high jump with a jump of 4'02.00".
Kayne Locke took fifth and Abby Tinervia took fourth in the long jump.
