Quincy Orioles JV hit the road Thursday night as they traveled to Battle Creek Pennfield and swept a double header from the Panthers.
Game 1 saw Quincy’s Caleb Wendorf pitch a complete game on only 70 pitches. The righty allowed 3 hits and no earned runs on the night and struck out 4 Panther hitters. Cobee Stevens and Ethan Drumm led the way offensively with 2 hits each. Christian Craven pitched in with a base knock as the Orioles won game 1 by a final of 5 to 1.
Game 2 was all knotted at 3 when the Orioles came to the plate in the top of the last inning. Quincy managed to take the lead and never look back finishing game 2 as 9 to 5 victors. Andrew Dunn started on the mound and went 3 innings allowing 4 hits and 3 earned runs while striking out 3. Craven came on in relief and pitched 1.2 innings allowing 2 hits no earned runs. Stevens got the final out of the night for the Orioles by striking out the Panthers hitter. Quincy scattered 9 hits including a break out at the plate by Drew Carlisle whom had a pair of knocks. Others that notched hits were Craven, Stevens, Skylar Foley, Drew Neusbaum, Evan Foley, Caleb Rose and Wendorf.
Quincy’s JV is back in action tomorrow night at Hanover-Horton.
