Quincy Jv Orioles hit the road for their 1st games of the 2024 season. Dropping both games of a double header to Hillsdale. 

Game one saw the young Orioles squad start off slow giving up 6 runs in the bottom of the 1st inning. Quincy battled back but fell short losing the game 10 to 6. Caleb Rose and Zac Rubley both had 2 hits with Caleb Wendorf, Christian Craven and Cobee Stevens all collecting a hit. Craven got his 1st start on the mound at the high school level going 3 innings giving up 3 earned runs while striking out 3. Wendorf finished the game in relief throwing 1 inning allowing no earned runs and struck out one Hornet hitter. 

Game 2 the Orioles started out quick grabbing a 6 to 2 lead before letting it slip away late with Hillsdale coming thru clutch in the last inning scoring 5. Rubley continue his hot start collecting another pair of hits, while Stevens had the only other Orioles hit. Stevens was sharp on the mound going 4 innings while only allowing 2 earned runs while striking out 8. Rose came in to try to close out the game but could only manage 2 outs before the Orioles fell on a walk off winner by the Hornets. 

The JV Orioles will make a trip to Concord Monday for a double header.
