Brady Mescher had all the right stuff on Thursday for the Orioles, tossing a 5 hit shut out and besting the Yellow Jackets by a score of 5-0 in game 1 of a Big8 DH at Concord. Mescher took control of the game in the 3rd inning. He and catcher Grant Holroyd were effective quieting the Yellow Jacket bats.

Brennen Allman led at the plate with two hits in three at bats as the Orioles pounded out 9 hits. Mescher added a run scoring 2b. Mickey Connin added a 2b and Ryan Kempter, Hunter Tinervia, Holroyd and Ethan Copas were busy on the base paths with base hits. Sr Brody Fillmore recorded his 1st hit of the yr with a single in the 4th inning.

The Orioles won game 2 as Kemper’s ground ball chased home Connin with 2 outs in the 8th inning with the winning run. Kempter entered the game in the 2nd inning as a pitcher. The Sophomore threw 4 innings of scoreless ball. He was relieved by Allman who earned the win with 3 shut out innings of gutsy baseball 
The Orioles had just 3 hits in the game. Mescher, Connin and Copas all had hits while Parker Fraley added an RBI.

With the wins the O’s move to 4-2 in the Big 8 play and 8-3 overall. Next up the Orioles host Springport on Tuesday May 2
