Quincy Wins Home Doubleheader against East Jackson. 

Senior Riley Miner blasted a lead off home run to jump start the Orioles who cruised to 16-2 and 16-1 victories over visiting East Jackson on Monday night. Miner was just one of several Orioles who had a big night as the Orioles prepare for its Big8 Conference opener on Tuesday.

The Orioles rode the arms of Sr.Ryder Schmactenberger  who was the game one winning pitcher tossing 3 innings and striking out 7 EJ hitters. So. Brennen Allman finished game 1 and started game 2.He totaled 6 strike outs while earning the game 2 win on the mound.  So. Ryan Kempter throw the final 2 innings of game 2 giving up just 2 singles with 3 strikeouts.  

Miner scored a total of 5 runs in the doubleheader to go along with his “ big fly”. He also added 3 stolen bases on the day. Sr. Brady Mescher scored 7 runs on the day with 3 hits including a 2b and 2 RBI. Sr. Hunter Tinervia added 3 hits and 3 RBI while Jr’s Ethan Copas and Mickey Connin both had 2 run 2bs. Jr. Parker Fraley and Sr. Dreden Feltner each picked up their 1st hit of the season while Kempter also had a 2 run single.  

The Orioles welcome the warm baseball like weather and look forward to tomorrow’s match up with Reading. Game time 3:45 in Quincy.
