The Orioles scored early and lead 9-5 going into the 6th inning. After a lead off Comet walk, Senior Karsen Maurer relieved Oriole starting pitcher Junior Brady Mescher and finished off the Comets to earn an important save. Mescher was sharp through 5 innings allowing just 4 hits and 5 strikeouts to get his 4th conference win on the yr. The Orioles took advantage of some Comet walks to score 2 1st inning runs and a big 4 run 3rd inning highlighted by Mescher and Maurer RBI doubles led the way. Brennen Allman added an RBI single while hot hitting Hunter Tinervia Riley Miner and Ethan Copas added singles. The Orioles had 6 stolen bases 2 each by Tinervia and Miner. Allman and Rhett Reif also had a stolen base.  

In game 2 the Comets held on for a 4-2 win in a highly competitive and fun game.  The Orioles were victims to 2 balk calls allowing 2 Comet runs.  Mason Snyder pitched 5 strong innings and was relieved by Dreden Feltner who pitched the final 2 frames. Although the Orioles put the ball in play, Jonesville did not make an error and the O’s managed just 2 hits both singles by Grant Holroyd and Copas. 

Holroyd continued his strong Sophomore season behind the plate as he controlled the Comet running game with 3 catchers throw outs. 

The Orioles finish a suspended game on Thursday against Concord and then will play the YellowJackets in a single 7 inning game at Quincy.
