Varsity baseball best Climax Scott’s in non league DH.  

The Orioles belted 21 hits in a non conference double header win against Climax Scots on Thursday. Hunter Tinervia had a hot bat with 5 total hits in the DH.  He and Ethan Copas had 3 hits each in the opening game.  Copas added 3 rbi. Brady Mescher and Brennen Allman produced run scoring doubles and Karsen Maurer and Grant Holroyd had run scoring hits. 

The Orioles pitched by committee as Maurer started and was credited with the win.  Ryder Schmactenberger and Mason Snyder also pitched with Snyder stopping a Panther rally in the 5th inning. 

In game 2 the Orioles scored 4 runs in both the 1st 2 innings highlighted by Karsen Maurer’s 2 run home run in the second inning.  Tinervia, Mescher and Riley Miner each had 2 hits from their spot in the top of the Oriole batter order.  The heavy traffic on the base paths helped distance the Orioles from the Panthers. Holroyd and Davin George also collected hits in the win 

Snyder picked up where he left off in game 1 and threw 2 shut out innings. Freshmen Brennen Allman and Ryan Kempter pitched in relief to help preserve the shut out win 

With the wins the Orioles move to 9-8 on the season and return to action on Saturday in the Glick Invitational in Jackson against Jackson High School
