Orioles rally falls short in DH loss at Springport. 

The Orioles scored 6 runs over the final 2 innings but came up short falling to Springport 8-7 in the 1st game of a Big 8 double header. The Orioles had just 6 hits. Grant Holroyd led the way with 2 hits.  Karsen Maurer had a 2b along with 3 rbi. Brady Mescher, Hunter Tinervia and Mason Snyder added hits.  Snyder also pitched 2 solid innings in relief. 

In game 2 the Spartans blew open a close game by plating 6 runs in the 5th inning on the way to a 8-3 win. Dreden Feltner pitched very well into the 5 inn allowing 3 hits while striking out 5.  The Orioles out hit the Spartans 7-5 Riley Miner led the offense with 2 hits. Holroyd and Tinervia added 2b’s.  Mescher and Maurer each added another hit and RBI.  

On the day the Orioles swiped 15 bases, but could not make a key play when needed in both games.  Grant Holroyd continues strong play from his catchers position.  He managed the games well and caught a couple Spartans on the base paths. 

With the losses to Orioles dip below .500 for the 1st time this season and look to bounce back on Thursday in a non league doubleheader against Climax Scots at Quincy. Game time 4:00 pm.
