Quincy Baseball Sweeps Springport in Big 8 Play. 

The Quincy Orioles evened their Big 8 Conference record at 5-5 with a sweep of Springport. The Orioles rode the arms of Bradley Harper in game 1 and Blake Burkhart in game 2 to earn 8-2 and 13-2 victories. Harper got his 3rd Big 8 win on the yr by giving up just 4 hits and striking out 6 in 6.2 innings. Brady Mescher came on in relief to get the final out. In game 1 the Orioles  found themselves down 2 runs  but pounded out 13 hits - a season high. Mescher led the way with 3 hits and 2 rbi. Harper, Cody Nuesbaum , Karsen Maurer 2b (8th of the season) , and hot hitting Kyle Rodesiler each added two hits. Burkhart and Corbin Bethel had RBI singles.  The Orioles did not commit an error in game 1 holding Springport in check. 

Game 2 saw Quincy as the visiting team race out to a 7 run 1st inning. Burkhart took over from there on the mound. The Senior threw a 5 inning complete game allowing 2 unearned runs, 5 hits and struck out 4.  

Bethel led off the 1st with a 2b as the Orioles batted around the order in the 1st inning 

Including RBIs Kyler Economou, Davin George, and Kyle Rodesiler. They added multiple runs in the 5th and 6th to pull away to the 13-2 win. The Orioles swiped 7 bases including 2 from RileyMiner. Economou  and Rodesiler ended up with 2 hits. Davin George and Riley Miner added singles. Dylan Bean and Ethan Buritt recorded rbis.
