Grant Longardner stole the ball and the show as the 8th grade Orioles rallied in the final minutes to win 23-22 on the road at Union City. With time winding down and the ball in UC’s possession, Longardner made a steal at the Charger end and raced the floor and was fouled at the basket as the game clock expired.  He calmly sank the 1st free throw and the Orioles celebrated the win. 

 The Orioles trailed most of the 2nd half and finally tied the score at 22 all with 1:37 to go on a Bryson Estlow BE2 basket.  Estlow also made a big free throw earlier in the 4 quarter.  He drew the defensive assignment of guarding UC’s top scorer and held him scoreless for the game.  

 Noah Kelley led the Orioles in scoring with 13 points and rebounding with 5 boards. He was double and tripled team all night but was able to convert 5/6 three throws. For the game the Orioles made 7-11 free throws - all were important as the Orioles outscored UC from the charity stripe 7 to 1. 

Longardner added 2 1st quarter baskets to go along with his memorable free throw. Tristian Brewer defended in the paint all night while adding a basket.  

Should be noted the game was played at a very slow pace. The Orioles had just 18 shots on the night and made 8. UC made 9 baskets.  The difference was at the foul line that the Orioles and Grant Longardner will long remember.
