Quincy and Homer battled for four quarters, but in the end, Homer prevailed 51-48 on their "Snowcoming".
Quincy edged out Homer in the first quarter, 19-16, behind five three pointers by the Orioles, who came out on fire. Homer nearly matched Quincy basket for basket in the first.
The two teams played fairly evenly in the intense game, but the Trojans won the second quarter 14-11, leaving the teams knotted up at 30 at the half.
Homer outscored Quincy 13-6 in the third quarter, so the Orioles found themselves down 43-36 heading into the final stanza.
The Orioles came charging back, taking the lead by one point. Homer quickly scored at the other end to reclaim the lead by one. The Orioles were down by three points with 8.7 seconds remaining, with Homer at the free throw line. The Trojans missed the front end of the one-and-one, and the Orioles dashed to the other end. Quincy quickly found an opening at the right wing three-point line that would have tied it, but the ball rimmed out.
