Quincy took the long trip to Springport, snapping a four game losing streak, with a 51-41 victory. With the win, the Orioles notched their first Big Eight Conference win of the season.
Quincy used a strong second half to pull out the win, outscoring the Spartans, 34-21.
The Orioles were led on the night by Derrek Newberry, with a career-high 14 points. Ashtyn Morris had another double-double with 14 points, 10 rebounds, and 3 blocked shots. Sam Sawyer had 12 points, 4 assists, and 3 steals in a good all-round floor game. Tae'Sean Bodley contributed 7 points and 7 rebounds, while Tre'Von Bodley had 4 points and 12 rebounds.
Quincy is now 2-4 overall, 1-3 in the Big Eight. The next game is at Reading on Saturday, with tip-off at 3:30 p.m.
