The Quincy Orioles 7th grade football team finished its successful season with a 37-0 win over visiting Bronson.  The young Orioles “ grew up” and played a physical and team centered game with contributions from many players.  The offensive and defensive line led the way by controlling both sides of the ball with their physical play in getting the “team” shout out on defense.  

JJ Wright was a three headed monster for the Orioles.  Not only did he rush for 3 scores.  He also passed for one score, ran a 2 point conversation  and kicked an extra point. His defensive play was equally impressive from his safety spot.  

Gibson James (9 carries for 54  one TD and a 2 point conversation)  and Seth Van Stelle ( 6 carries for 60 yards and a score ) anchored the running game while Kale Dirschell scored from 50 yards out on a nifty pass play. Carson Craven added a 2 point conversion. Behind all this offense was a driven offensive line led by Center Luke Clancy who played his best game of the season Ben Romine , Kolton Marquart, Matthew Taylor and Conner Hagaman. 

On defense the Orioles were physical and swarmed to the ball all night.  Again Clancy, Romine, and Marquart led the way upfront and James, Van Stelle and Craven held on the edge with several pressure plays. 

With tthe win the young Orioles end the season with lots of improvement and promise for the future as they began to figure out the physical nature of football and how to play as a TEAM.
