The Oriole 7 th grade football team overcome a long bus ride and early game stage fright  falling behind 20-0 before playing competitive football the rest of the game in a 34-12 loss at Richland Gull Lk.  The Orioles had few answers early for the Blue Devils rushing attack who scored on 3 long runs to open the game.  The Orioles closed the gap at 20-6 on a Gibson James touchdown set up on a long pass completion from JJ Wright to Kale Dirschell  The Orioles scored again on a 35 yard counter  run by Seth VanStelle just before half time. to close to 28-12.  Gull Lk added one second half touchdown as the Orioles stiffened on defense.  
Gibson led the Orioles on the ground with 60 yards rushing. Wright completed eight passes four catches by Dirschell and two by Carson Craven. VanStelle and Braun Heminger also caught passes from Wright.  Ben Romine led the defense with 6 tackles while Gibson and Van Stelle added 5 stops. 
The Orioles will now prepare for another road game next week at Maple Valley
