7 th grade Oriole Football team used big plays to defeat Ottawa Lk Whiteford 42-12 on Wednesday night
Caleb Ruddock opened the scoring with a nifty 59 yrd pick six. Quarterback JJ Wright was in on the next 4 scores as he ran 60 yards on a qb sweep then minutes later threw a 40 yard TD pass to Kale Dirschell. He also scored on a short run and returned a Bobcat kick another 60 yards for a score. Seth VanStele also scored aTD on a tackle breaking 35 yrd run. Carsen Craven scored twice on 2 point conversation catches.
Gibson James led the defense with 7 tackles while Dirschell had a fumble recovery and interception. Ruddock added a fumble recovery. Luke Clancy led the linemen with solid play and both sides of the ball.
with the win the Orioles go back to work prepping for Gull Lake next week
