The 7th grade football team opened its season Wednesday on the road at Reading and scored a resounding 36-0 victory. Noah Kelley scored all 5 of the Orioles touchdowns all on runs or more than 20 yards.  Kelley who is also a place kicker began the game by kicking and recovering on onside kick.  He then took the 1st play from scrimmage 55 yard for a score.  The O's led 14-0 after 1 quarter and 22-0 at half. Joe Gray was 4-6 passing in a steady performance at quarterback. He threw 2 two point conversion passes to Bryson Estlow while Caden Norris also scored a 2 point conversion on a run play. The offensive line played well led by Avery Crandall, Lewis Norton and Daniel Burritt. The Orioles Defense was not to be outdone as they recorded the shutout  against the Rangers. They swarmed to the ball and tackled well as they defended against 27 Ranger plays. With the win the 7th grade Orioles move to 1-0 on the season and will prepare for Homer its next opponent next week. 

In 8th grade football action, the Orioles played at historic Barre Field to take on the Reading Rangers. Quincy ended up winning a close and exciting football game, 20-18. Quincy touchdowns were scored by Andrew Dunn, Alex Dunn, and Micha Paul. Carson Haylett scored a key 2-point conversion, resulting in the scoreboard favoring the Orioles. The Quincy defense held tough in the second half, to stave off the Ranger attack, keeping them out of the end zone to secure the victory. Carson Haylett, Garrett Haylett, Bricen LaVergne, and Rylen Dickey were standouts on defense. Christian Craven led the Oriole offensive attack with his arm and legs. Carson Haylett, Andrew Dunn, and Micha Paul ran the ball well for Quincy. Alex Dunn had two big receptions from Craven. Quincy takes on the Homer Trojans next Wednesday.
