Game Summaries & Headlines.
Quincy CC had two runners qualify to run at the State Finals on Saturday, November 2nd. In the Girls' Race: Avery Rufenacht ran her third best time of the season and finished 150th. She had a great race going. She was running her goal 1 mile and 2 mile times but the last half mile was really tough. The last half mile was very wet and muddy along the inside of the MIS Track. Avery legs became very tired and she lost a lot of time. Avery did not run her goal time for today but she has nothing to feel bad about. She put it on the line every race this season...running hurt for many of her races. She is truly a great leader and was Quincy's number 1 runner all season. She had a great Junior year!!! For the Boys: Freshman Rhett Reif ran his second best time of the season finishing 28th (Medallist) which made him All-State. Rhett ran a very good race. He ran in the top 30 for the entire race. He was seeded at the 37th spot for the race but he was determined to finish in the top 30. He was only off 9 seconds off his PR he ran at Regionals. Todays time was a very good time considering the muddy conditions of the course today (MIS had a lot of rain during the middle of last week). Rhett ended his Freshman Season on a great note: Fastest Freshman 5K runner in Quincy's History; 5th Spot on Top Ten Fastest 5K Runners in Quincy's History; and a medallist at the State Finals, which qualified him to be an All-State Runner.
