Quincy High School

Quincy High School Athletics is proud to announce the hiring of Kevin Dirschell as the next Head Varsity Baseball Coach. Coach Dirschell brings a strong connection to Quincy Baseball along with years of coaching experience at both the high school and youth levels. A Quincy native, Dirschell grew up playing baseball in the community and was a four-year member of the Quincy High School baseball program. At just 19 years old, he began his coaching career at Bronson High School, where he served as a Varsity Assistant Coach for two seasons. Following his time at Bronson, Dirschell returned to Quincy and spent four seasons as an assistant coach with the Orioles baseball program. After stepping away from coaching to build his home and raise his family, Dirschell returned to the Quincy baseball program eight years ago when he accepted the JV Baseball Coach position. During his time with the program, he has played an important role in the development of Quincy baseball players and has helped build a strong foundation within the program. In addition to his high school coaching experience, Dirschell has been involved in youth travel baseball for more than 10 years, giving him extensive experience working with players at various levels of the game. New Head Varsity Baseball Coach Kevin Dirschell had this to say about taking on the role: “I’m really excited to get started and looking forward to building on the tradition here at Quincy.” Athletic Director Lucas Meyer had this to say about the hiring: “I am really excited for Kevin to have the opportunity to take on the role as our Head Varsity Baseball Coach. Kevin has been a part of Quincy Baseball for many years and has done a great job with the development of our players and our program. His experience as a former Quincy player, assistant coach, and most recently our JV coach, along with his extensive involvement in youth travel baseball, gives him a great understanding of what Quincy Baseball is all about. We are excited to have Kevin lead our program and look forward to the future of Quincy Baseball under his leadership.”
