The Quincy volleyball team earned a 3-0 sweep over Stockbridge Tuesday night, 26-24, 25-13, 25-19, as the Orioles used a strong serving performance and consistent offensive play to secure the victory. Stockbridge came out strong in the opening set and held the lead for much of the frame before Quincy battled back to take an 18-17 advantage. The Orioles maintained that momentum late to close out the first set, 26-24. Quincy carried that momentum into the second set, jumping out to a 10-3 lead and extending the advantage to 16-6. The Orioles continued to control the set and finished strong to take it 25-13. The third set was competitive early, with the teams trading momentum before Quincy was able to establish a lead. Stockbridge cut the deficit to 17-15, but the Orioles responded by creating separation down the stretch and closed out the match with a 25-19 third-set victory. Ashlyn Fickle led the Quincy offense with 10 kills, followed by Kora Timmons and Laura Bostic with six kills each. Alexis Reif paced the serving effort with seven aces, while Fickle and Bostic added three apiece. Reif also led the Orioles with 14 assists, while Fickle added 10. Timmons recorded a team-high 11 digs, followed by Fickle with nine and JC Quimby and Reif with seven each. With the victory, Quincy improves to 3-1 in Big 8 Conference play and 12-5-1 overall. The Orioles will return to action next Tuesday at Union City
