Quincy Cross Country competed at the Springport Invitational on Wednesday, September 9, with the boys’ team earning a first-place finish in the Division 2 race and the girls’ team placing fourth. The boys finished with six runners in the top 30, including two new personal records. Hunter Walker led the Orioles with a second-place finish, followed by Carter Feltner in third. Nathan Dunn placed 10th, Coy Wood finished 14th, Nolan King recorded a personal-best time in 20th, and Eli Morris placed 22nd. Jack Miller also set a new personal record, finishing 32nd. The girls finished fourth in the Division 2 race, with five of their top six runners placing in the top 30. Kendyl Musielewicz led Quincy with a fifth-place finish, followed by Bailey Porter in 12th and Lauren Tappenden in 14th. Both Porter and Tappenden recorded personal-best times. Clare Robertson placed 24th, and Cali Richards finished 28th. Lily Neubecker rounded out the varsity lineup in 37th. Quincy also had two runners finish near the top of the JV race. Claire Carpenter placed second with a personal-best time, while Victoria Francis finished third, also recording a new personal best. The Orioles will continue their season next week as they head to the Jackson Prep invite at Ella Sharp Park.
