Quincy Boys Soccer battled Stockbridge in a closely contested Big 8 matchup Wednesday, with the Orioles falling 2-1 to the Panthers. The teams played to a scoreless draw through the first half, with both sides working to create opportunities. Quincy continued to compete in the second half and took the lead when freshman Max Woodward found the back of the net, assisted by fellow freshman Ross Dornbush. Stockbridge responded with two second-half goals to take the lead and held on for the victory. Senior goalkeeper Dane Johnson recorded 10 saves for the Orioles. The Orioles were able to get 13 shots on the night with 7 of them being on goal. Quincy will return to action Monday when the Orioles travel to Maple Valley.
