Quincy Volleyball Goes 2-0 in Tri Meet

The Quincy varsity volleyball team traveled to Camden Wednesday afternoon for a tri-match against Benton Harbor and Camden, earning a pair of victories to improve to 5-3-1 on the season. The Orioles opened the night with a dominant performance against Benton Harbor, winning 25-4, 25-5, 25-7. Quincy followed with a more competitive match against Camden, coming away with a 25-17, 25-19, 26-24 victory. Quincy’s balanced attack and consistent play helped the Orioles maintain control throughout the night. Ashlyn Fickle and Alexis Reif led the team with eight kills apiece, while Kora Timmons added seven. Reif also led Quincy with 13 assists, followed by Fickle with nine and Mckya Connin with five. The Orioles’ serving game was a major factor, with Kenzi Maynard and Reif each recording 10 aces. Gabby Norris and Connin added six aces apiece. Defensively, Fickle paced the Orioles with nine digs, followed by Maynard with seven and Reif and Timmons with six each. The two victories gave Quincy a strong start to the week and continued the team’s early-season progress. They next host big 8 rival Concord Wednesday evening.
