Quincy High School

The Quincy boys soccer team battled to a 3-3 draw against Comstock on Monday night, earning its second consecutive tie. The Orioles came out strong offensively in the opening half, scoring three goals during an eventful first 40 minutes. Comstock opened the scoring at the 9:11 mark, but Quincy answered three minutes later when freshman Max Woodward found the back of the net to even the match at 1-1. Five minutes later, senior Blaik Pierce scored to give the Orioles a 2-1 advantage. Comstock responded in the 33rd minute to tie the match, but Quincy regained the lead in the 38th minute when senior Carl Dessir scored, putting the Orioles ahead 3-2. Comstock found the equalizer before halftime, sending the teams into the break tied at 3-3. The second half featured a different style of play, with Quincy focusing more on its defensive effort while continuing to compete for opportunities on the offensive end. Neither team was able to find the go-ahead goal, and the match finished in a 3-3 draw. Senior goalkeeper Dane Johnson recorded six saves for the Orioles. Quincy also recorded shots on goal from Anderson Suever, Bentley Horner, and Bentley Swift. The Orioles will play their first home match of the season Wednesday when they host Pennfield at Quincy High School.
