The Quincy Oriole Baseball program wrapped up its 2026 season with a hard-fought 1-0 loss to Jonesville in the MHSAA District Semifinals. As they did all season long, the Orioles competed with determination and pride in every contest at both the varsity and junior varsity levels. The varsity squad finished 14-13-1 against a challenging schedule, marking the program's fifth consecutive winning season. Quincy posted an 8-5-1 record in Big 8 Conference play, good for a fourth-place finish. Despite fielding one of the youngest lineups in the conference, often starting four freshmen, two sophomores, and three juniors, the Orioles continued to compete at a high level and gained valuable experience for the future. The team will graduate just one senior, captain Drew Neusbaum. His leadership, commitment, and positive influence were appreciated throughout the season and helped set the standard for the program. Several Orioles were recognized for their accomplishments both on the field and in the classroom. Quincy was well represented on the Big 8 All-Conference Team with Bryson Estlow (So.), JJ Wright (Fr.), and Seth VanStelle (Fr.) earning First Team honors. Joe Gray (So.), Christian Craven (Jr.), and Cobee Stevens (Jr.) were named Honorable Mention. Wright, VanStelle, and Craven also earned MHSBCA First Team All-District honors, while Estlow and Kale Dirschell (Fr.) were selected as Honorable Mention All-District. In the classroom, Ethan Drumm (Jr.) and Andrew Dunn (Jr.) were recognized on the MHSBCA Academic All-District Team. The junior varsity team battled through a rain-filled April before finding its stride in May, finishing with an impressive 16-4 record. The coaching staff was pleased with the group's growth, leadership, and player development as many of those athletes prepare to contribute at the varsity level in the coming years. Beyond wins and losses, the Oriole Baseball program continued to meet its goals of developing well-rounded student-athletes who excel both on the field and in the classroom. The team took pride in its facilities, equipment, practice habits, and fundraising efforts, raising more than $8,000 to support future program needs. Most importantly, they valued and supported one another throughout the season. Quincy Baseball would like to thank all of its players, families, fans, and supporters for another memorable season. The future remains bright for Oriole Baseball, and the program looks forward to building on the foundation established by this year's team as it prepares for the 2027 season.
