The MS MEGASTAR meet is the equivalency of the HS State meet. Athletes must hit qualifying times, throws, or jumps in order to compete in the meet. The MS Track team competed again this year in Lowell, taking eight athletes. For the first time in the season, the weather was great (but warm) for the entire meet. This might have been the first meet that we had zero rain. The MEGASTAR medaled the top six in each event. We had two top six finishers this year. We would like to congratulate all athletes that had qualifying times/throws/jumps, as this is something to be proud of - working all season to be your absolute best. Our MEGASTAR competitors and their ranks. Grayson Sergent placed 14th in the 70m. Corbin Brewer placed 11th in the 200m. Johnny Bassage placed 10th in the 55H and 10th in the 200H. Talon Thomas placed 7th in the high jump. Brenden Preston competed in the pole vault. Lauren Tappenden placed 9th in the mile run. Cadence Johnson placed 2nd in the shot put. Bailey Porter placed 10th in the 100m, 7th in the 200m, and 4th in the 400m. Bailey Porter also broke the MS record in the 400m, running a 1:03:33! Congrats to Bailey!!! That wraps up the year for the young Orioles. Be sure to be on the look out for these athletes in the future, as you will certainly hear these names again.
