The Orioles season came to an end Wednesday night with an 8-0 loss to top-seeded Eaton Rapids in the Division 3 District 41 Semifinal. Eaton Rapids came out aggressive early, scoring twice in the opening 15 minutes to take control. Quincy was able to settle in defensively for a stretch, but the Greyhounds added three more first-half goals to take a 5-0 lead into halftime. The Greyhounds scored three quick goals early in the second half to trigger the mercy rule and secure the 8-0 victory. Quincy continued to battle throughout the match and created a few offensive opportunities but was unable to find the back of the net against a strong Eaton Rapids squad. The loss closes the season for the Orioles at 11-5 overall. Quincy also captured its second straight Big 8 Conference championship, continuing another strong run for the program. The Orioles will graduate seniors Olivia Davenport and Ciaira Paul, whose leadership and contributions helped lead the team to back-to-back conference titles. Quincy is expected to return a strong core next season with eight returning players, along with hopes of adding a talented incoming freshman class to continue building momentum for the future.
