The Quincy Lady Orioles battled back Tuesday night to earn an exciting 8-6 road victory over Colon. After a scoreless first three innings, Quincy broke through in the fourth when Gabby Norris ripped an RBI double and Taylor Lewis added another run with a groundout to give the Orioles a 2-0 lead. Colon answered with four runs in the bottom half of the inning to move in front, but Quincy quickly responded in the fifth. Mackenzie Sattison lined an RBI triple down the right field line, Josi Parker worked a walk, and later stole home as the Orioles regained the lead at 5-4. The Magi tied the game again in the sixth before Quincy delivered in the seventh inning. Parker doubled home a run, Norris drove in another on a fielder’s choice, and Gracin Hemker added an RBI double to give the Orioles the winning margin. Parker had a big night in relief, earning the win by striking out seven over three innings while allowing just two runs. Taylor Lewis started in the circle for Quincy limiting Colon scoreless through three innings before giving up four runs in the fourth inning. Offensively, the Orioles made the most of six hits. Norris led the way with two RBIs, while Parker, Emmalyn Ward, Sattison, Hemker, and Lewis each added hits. Quincy also stayed aggressive on the bases, stealing five bases in the win. With the victory, the Lady Orioles look to build momentum heading toward their District opener Saturday at Homer.
