The Quincy boys track and field team delivered a dominant performance at the Big 8 Conference Finals, capturing the conference championship with 159 points well ahead of runner-up Bronson with 96 points. The Quincy girls also had a strong showing, finishing third overall with 104 points in a competitive field led by Concord and Union City. Quincy athletes produced standout performances across the track and field events, highlighted by multiple conference champions, relay victories, and numerous top-10 finishes. Chayse Jensen led the Orioles with an outstanding day in the distance events, winning the 800 meters in 2:01.98 while also helping Quincy capture another conference title in the 4x800 relay alongside Grant Longardner, Carter Feltner, and Coy Wood. Hunter Walker added another conference championship in the 3200 meters with a winning time of 10:52.50. Noah Rufenacht continued his impressive season by winning both the high jump (6'6") and long jump (21'1.75"). He also helped Quincy secure a first-place finish in the 4x200 relay and a runner-up finish in the 4x400 relay. Clayton Benson swept the hurdle events for Quincy, capturing conference titles in both the 110-meter hurdles (14.91) and 300-meter hurdles (40.96), while Noah Kelley added another individual championship in the 200 meters (23.78) and ran on the winning 4x200 relay team alongside Micah Groves, Noah Rufenacht, and Benson. The Orioles also received strong contributions throughout the lineup. Carter Feltner placed second in the 1600 meters, Grant Longardner finished third in the 400 meters, and Micah Groves added top-five finishes in both the 200 and 400 meters. In the field events, Lincoln Sims took second in shot put, Isaiah Staggs placed fourth in discus and ninth in shot put, and Tayte Waddell earned third in shot put while also finishing in the top 10 in discus. Quincy’s relay teams proved to be a major strength throughout the meet, earning first-place finishes in the 4x200 and 4x800 relays, a second-place finish in the 4x400 relay, and fourth in the 4x100 relay. On the girls side, Elizabeth Longardner led Quincy with a conference championship in the 400 meters (1:00.22) while also placing second in the 200 meters. Brookelyn Parker continued her stellar season by sweeping the hurdle events, winning both the 100-meter hurdles (16.56) and 300-meter hurdles (48.26). In the field events, Addison Hasten dominated the throws with conference titles in both shot put (31'2.25") and discus (107'7"), while Riley Myers earned a conference championship in the long jump with a leap of 15'1". Quincy also received strong performances from Kendyl Musielewicz, who placed fourth in the 800 meters, Kali Kugler, who finished third in the long jump, Ashlyn Fickle, who earned third in the high jump, and Piper Craig, who placed fourth in pole vault. The Lady Orioles also performed well in relay competition, with Quincy earning third-place finishes in both the 4x200 and 4x400 relays. The strong overall performance capped an impressive conference meet for Quincy, highlighted by the boys conference championship and numerous all-conference performances across both teams.
