Quincy Golf Posts Strong Showing at Oriole Classic

The Quincy golf team hosted the 12-team Oriole Classic on Thursday at Coldwater Golf Course, with the Orioles splitting into Orange and Black squads for the event. The Quincy Orange team turned in a strong performance, finishing third overall with a team score of 369 in a competitive field. Centreville and Springport shared the team title with matching scores of 357, while Quincy finished ahead of Napoleon (374) for third place. Team Scores: Centreville – 357 Springport – 357 Quincy Orange - 369 Napoleon - 374 Olivet - 394 Athens - 395 Union City - 417 Colon - 429 Quincy Black - 434 Leslie - 453 Maple Valley - 518 Comstock - Did Not Qualify Braylon Estlow led the Orioles with an outstanding round of 86, earning fourth place overall individually. Jax Sergent and Carson Craven each carded rounds of 90 to tie for 13th place, giving Quincy solid depth throughout the lineup. Codin Ayerdi added a 103 to place tied for 32nd, while Bo Tissue rounded out the Orange scoring and finished 37th overall. The Quincy Black squad placed ninth overall and was led by Kalin Scheidler, who fired a season-best 103 to tie for 32nd place. Gavin Bearden added a 108 (40th), followed by Colton Walters with a 111 (42nd) and Daniel Burritt with a 112 (43rd). The Orioles return to action Saturday at the Pennfield Invite.
