Big-Time Comeback. Big-Time Statement. The Quincy Lady Orioles hit the road Tuesday night and delivered a gritty, impressive performance against Big 8 rival Springport, turning a halftime deficit into a convincing 5-2 victory. Quincy found itself in a battle early, trailing 2-1 at the break after a hard-fought first half. The adjustments made by Coach Ivan Swift paid off for Quincy, as the Lady Orioles, quickly took control in the second half. Leading the charge was Laura Bostic who lead with Orioles with four goals, Kenzi Maynard also, added a goal of her own while setting up teammates with two assists. Olivia and Clare Carpenter each added pressure on Springport with three shots a piece. The second-half surge was a total team effort, with Quincy controlling possession, creating opportunities, and shutting down Springport’s attack on the other end. Olivia Davenport had another great night in goal for the Orioles shutting out the Spartans in the second half. With the win, the Lady Orioles improve to 8-4 (6-0) Big 8. Quincy will return home Wednesday night to host Bronson for Senior Night. Fans are encouraged to come out and support the Lady Orioles as they honor their seniors and look to keep the momentum rolling.
