The Quincy golf team traveled to Klingler Lake Country Club to compete in the US-12 Invitational hosted by Sturgis High School. The event featured a two-man team format, with golfers playing both scramble and alternate shot on a challenging and scenic course. The duo of Braylon Estlow and Carson Craven earned medalist honors, topping the field with a +5 (77), finishing just one stroke ahead of two Sturgis teams. The pair came out strong in the scramble format, firing a 33 (-3) on the front nine highlighted by birdies on holes 3, 5, 8, and 9. Their strong start gave them momentum heading into the alternate shot portion, where they relied on steady and consistent play to hold their lead including a birdie on 17. Despite a bogey on the final hole, the duo had built enough of a cushion to secure the victory in tough, cold, and windy conditions. Bo Tissue and Codin Ayerdi also turned in a solid performance, finishing at +9 (81) to place in a tie for 6th. Their round helped give Quincy multiple teams near the top of the leaderboard. Jax Sergent and Daniel Burritt rounded out the scoring with a +21 (93), earning a 13th-place finish. Overall, Quincy showed strong depth and teamwork in a format that demands both aggressive play and precision. Battling the elements throughout the day, the Orioles placed all three teams in the top half of the field and were led by a medalist performance at the top. Quincy will be back in action next week at the Maple Valley Jamboree on Tuesday.
