Quincy, MI — The Quincy Orioles middle school track teams hosted the Union City Chargers on April 28 in a competitive dual meet that highlighted the determination of all our athletes. The Quincy boys delivered a dominant performance, defeating Union City 84–43. Multiple athletes achieved personal records across all events - running, jumping, and throwing. Some great showings with new PRs for the night were: Emerson Dodd 70m Jacob Rodgers 70m, 100m Joren Stevens 70m Michael Prough 70m, shot put Lucas Albright 100m Dawson Grossheim 100m, high jump Karsyn Bulloch 100m, 400m, long jump Brendon Preston 200m Ethan Goebel 800m Davin Musielewicz 1600m LJay Stayner 1600m Jaxon Jennings 1600m Myles Leland 55H Corbin Brewer high jump Grayson Sergent high jump Jack Miller long jump Easton Suever long jump The boys 4x400 team of Lane Wood, Grayson Sergent, LJay Stayner, and Davin Musielewicz took 4.5 seconds off the previous PR. The boys 4x800 team of Jack Miller, Ross Dornbush, Hunter Martin, and Nolan King took 17 seconds off their previous PR!! On the girls’ side, Quincy fell to the Chargers 76–53, but the final score did not fully capture the effort displayed. The Orioles have been battling adversity, with several athletes sidelined due to injuries in recent weeks. Despite a shortened lineup, those competing stepped up in a big way. Many girls recorded personal bests, while others took on additional events to help fill gaps in the roster. Our PRs from the Lady Orioles were: Hayden Lukazcek 70m Cambreiah Cannon 70m, high jump Josie Benard 70m, 200m Isabella Maschino 70m Madelyn Stalter 100m, 200m, long jump Allison Porter 200m Lydia Hemker 200m Morghan Lorenz 200m Lauren Tappenden 800m. 1600m Londyn Rhoades 800m, 1600m Amberlyn Small 200H Molly Cook shot put Delilah Budas shot put The girls 4x400 team of London Sims, Cambreiah Cannon, Lydia Hemker, and Cadence Johnson took 3.5 seconds off their PR!
