The Quincy Varsity Orioles traveled to Homer for a singular game and again produced a strong showing at the plate, totaling 12 hits in Thursday’s 7-4 defeat at Homer in a makeup of Wednesdays rainout. Josi Parker, Ary’Annah Freeman, Taylor Lewis, and Hannah Brown each led the way with two hits apiece, accounting for eight of Quincy’s 12 hits. The Orioles consistently put the ball in play and created scoring opportunities throughout the game. Mackenzie Sattison drove in a team-high two RBIs, while Freeman and Riley Myers each added an RBI to round out Quincy’s four runs on the night. Additional hits came from Miley Poindexter, Shaylee Cope, Sattison, and Myers, who each recorded one, helping Quincy generate traffic on the bases across multiple innings. In the circle, Taylor Lewis started for Quincy, working three innings with three strikeouts. Josi Parker came on in relief and provided a strong outing, striking out seven over three innings. JV played Game 1 where Homer defeated Quincy 9-6. The Varsity Orioles return home Saturday in the Oriole Classic Tournament at Quincy High School starting at 9am. The JV next face Addison at home Monday starting at 4pm.
