The Quincy Varsity Orioles faced Union City in a Tuesday night Big Doubleheader, showing resilience and continued offensive production across both contests. In Game 1, Quincy fell 15-5 despite a strong start. The Orioles got on the board early in the first inning when Josi Parker tripled to center field, helping bring in two runs alongside productive situational hitting. Union City responded with a big third inning to take control of the game. Quincy continued to battle throughout the contest, collecting hits from Parker, Taylor Lewis, Mackenzie Sattison, Shaylee Cope, and Miley Poindexter. The team also demonstrated patience at the plate, drawing 10 walks, with Sattison and Poindexter each earning three. Defensively, Quincy turned three double plays, highlighting strong teamwork in the field. In Game 2, Quincy showed offensive growth, finishing with 11 runs on 17 hits in a 17-11 contest. The Orioles put together multiple strong innings, including a seven-run third inning that showcased their continued ability to string together hits and runs. Several players had standout performances at the plate. Josi Parker led the way with four hits, while Gabby Norris and Shaylee Cope each added three hits. Mackenzie Sattison and Miley Poindexter contributed two hits apiece, and Taylor Lewis added a hit while also drawing two walks. The team finished with nine RBIs and continued to apply pressure offensively throughout the game. The Orioles next game comes Wednesday 4/29 where JV/V will play one game each at Homer High School beginning at 4pm.
