Orioles Softball Goes 1-2 at Mendon Invite

Quincy Varsity Softball went through a long three-game stretch Saturday against Mendon, Gobles, and White Pigeon. In game one against Mendon, Quincy fell 17-3. Mendon used a big offensive performance to pull away early and maintain control throughout. Josi Parker drove in 2 runs to lead the offense, while Hannah Brown finished a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate. Despite the loss, Quincy showed some production at the plate against a strong Mendon lineup. Game two against Gobles was more competitive, but the Orioles came up short 11-7. Quincy scored early and put together a strong fifth inning scoring five, highlighted by RBI contributions from Josi Parker, Riley Myers, Shaylee Cope, Mackenzie Sattison, and an error that helped extend the rally. Sattison finished with 2 hits and an RBI, while Myers added 2 RBIs. Gobles answered with a strong offensive effort to secure the win. Quincy closed the day with a dominant 17-7 victory over White Pigeon. The Orioles exploded early, scoring 5 runs in the first inning and adding 7 more in the third to take control. Quincy finished with 11 hits and drew 7 walks in a balanced offensive attack. Gabby Norris also led the way, collecting 3 hits and 2 RBIs. Hannah Brown added 3 RBIs, while Cali Richards contributed 2 hits and 2 RBIs. Ava Freeman chipped in a double and 2 RBIs, and both Taylor Lewis and Mackenzie Sattison scored twice while adding hits. Ary'Annah Freeman and Kennedy Leonard also added hits to the teams overall offensive surge. In the circle, Hannah Brown went the distance, striking out 6 over 5 innings to earn the win. Despite the early setbacks, Quincy finished the day strong with a complete team effort in game three, showing resilience and offensive depth across the lineup.
