The Quincy track & field team delivered a strong overall performance, finishing 2nd as a team while also sending multiple athletes into the postseason with state-qualifying marks and standout performances across the board. Leading the way on the boys side, Noah Rufenacht had a huge meet, winning the long jump with a personal best of 20’ 8.75” and also taking 1st place in the high jump, clearing 6’5” to secure his state berth. Clayton Benson also punched his ticket to state in the 110-meter hurdles with a winning time of 14.98. Benson added another highlight by dominating the 300-meter hurdles, taking 1st place in 41.91 to cap off a standout day. The Orioles’ 4x200 relay team of Noah Kelley, Micah Groves, Noah Rufenacht, and Clayton Benson captured 1st place with a time of 1:34.99, adding another major highlight. In the field events, Addison Hasten had a strong day in the throws, placing 5th in the shot put (30’ 3.5”) and earning a personal best in the discus with a 1st place throw of 113’ 9”. In the boys shot put, Lincoln Sims placed 3rd with a personal best of 46’ 10”, while Isaiah Staggs took 5th (41’ 7.5”) and Tyler Miner finished 6th with a season best of 41’ 0”. Additional boys track highlights included Chayse Jensen finishing 2nd in the 800m (2:07.64) while adding a 3rd place finish in the 1600m followed by Carter Feltner and Hunter Walker with 5th and 7th place finishes respectively. Grant Longardner placing 5th in the 400m, Micah Groves earning a top-10 finish in the 400m, Trey Powell included a 5th place finish in the 300m hurdles with a personal best time and Dylan Musser placing 5th in the 110-meter hurdles. On the girls side, Brookelyn Parker had an outstanding meet, winning the 100-meter hurdles in 15.79 and placing 2nd in the 300-meter hurdles with a season-best 48.60. The girls 4x200 relay team of Elizabeth Craig, Elizabeth Longardner, Kali Kugler, and Brookelyn Parker also turned in a strong performance, finishing 3rd with a time of 1:55.25. Elizabeth Longardner added a 2nd place finish in the 400m, while Kendyl Musielewicz placed 3rd in the 800m with a season best of 2:22.44. In the girls field events, Ashlyn Fickle earned runner-up honors in the high jump with a clearance of 4’ 10”, and Piper Craig placed 4th in the pole vault with a height of 6’ 6”. With strong performances across sprints, distance, relays, and field events, Quincy showed its depth and competitiveness throughout the meet.
