Lady Orioles Fall to Bronson in Big 8 Doubleheader

The Quincy Lady Orioles dropped both games of a Big 8 Conference doubleheader to Bronson, falling 20-6 in Game 1 and 15-0 in the resumed Game 2 Wednesday. In the opener, Bronson set the tone early with three runs in the first inning and continued to build their lead with multi-run innings throughout. Quincy showed fight offensively, collecting nine hits and scoring six runs. Miley Poindexter and Hannah Brown each led the Lady Orioles with two hits, while Poindexter and Josi Parker each drove in two runs. Parker also added two stolen bases as Quincy totaled four steals in the game. Taylor Lewis took the loss in the circle, working three innings. Bronson’s offense proved difficult to contain, finishing with 17 hits in the contest. Game 2, which resumed following a rain delay from Tuesday, saw Bronson jump out to another early lead and never look back in a 15-0 final. Gabby Norris recorded Quincy’s lone hit of the game. Josi Parker started in the circle, going 3.2 innings, while the defense battled through a tough stretch as Bronson capitalized on opportunities. With the losses, Quincy looks to regroup as they head to Mendon on Saturday for a 4 team invite.
