The Quincy Orioles opened a busy week with a dominant 13-0 victory over Battle Creek Central in the first game of a scheduled doubleheader. Game 2 was postponed due to weather. Quincy took control early, scoring three runs in the first inning and continuing to build the lead with steady offensive production throughout the game. On the mound, Joe Gray earned his first varsity win with an outstanding performance, allowing just two hits over four shutout innings while striking out nine. Seth Van Stelle closed out the game with a scoreless inning, striking out two to complete the shutout. Offensively, Bryson Estlow led the way, going 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI. Andrew Dunn added a run-scoring double, and JJ Wright contributed an RBI single. Gray also made an impact at the plate, reaching base four times and scoring four runs. The Orioles showed patience and aggressiveness offensively, drawing nine walks and stealing nine bases. Estlow, Gray, and Wright each had two stolen bases, while Christian Craven and Cobee Stevens led the team with three walks apiece. Quincy will return to action Tuesday as they host Stockbridge in a Big 8 Conference doubleheader beginning at 3:45 p.m.
