The Quincy softball team stayed unbeaten Thursday, sweeping Addison in a doubleheader behind strong offensive production and solid pitching performances. In Game 1, the Orioles took control immediately, plating nine runs in the opening inning on their way to an 18-3 win in four innings. Quincy added four runs in the third and five more in the fourth to seal the run-rule victory. Miley Poindexter led the offensive surge, going 3-for-3 with a double, triple, three RBIs, and four runs scored. Mackenzie Sattison also had a perfect day at the plate with three hits and four runs scored, while Josi Parker added four RBIs. The Orioles showed patience and pressure throughout, finishing with 11 hits and 12 walks. Parker earned the win in the circle, striking out eight over four innings while allowing just one earned run. Game 2 opened with Addison jumping out to an early lead, but Quincy responded late to complete the sweep with an 8-5 win in a game shortened to five innings due to weather. The Orioles broke through with a four-run fourth inning and added three more runs in the fifth to take control. Makiya Feltner paced the offense with two hits and two RBIs, while Taylor Lewis added two hits and earned the win in relief. Gabby Norris delivered a key two-RBI hit, and Quincy continued to get contributions throughout the lineup, finishing with seven hits. Hannah Brown started in the circle and was effective, allowing just one earned run over four innings while striking out four before Lewis closed out the win. With a combination of timely hitting, aggressive baserunning, and consistent pitching, the Orioles showed their depth across both games. Quincy (4-0) will look to keep its momentum going Friday as it travels to Springport to open Big 8 Conference play in a makeup of Wednesdays postponement.
